Hallway Tree Bench – A tree coat, or standing coat rack, is a great way to store coats or jackets at an entrance or near a door during the cold or rainy months. Unlike a wall hanger, a tree layer can be anywhere without support in the room without damaging the walls. Building a layer of the DIY tree requires some wood stock and some tools, and can be made to any size. Salon trees are attractive added to your room foyer or mud. You can build a hallway tree with a storage bench for a wooden door and some building supplies. Bring a new life to an old wooden salvage yard door from the local architectural salvage or buy a door with panels at your local home.
They have the wood for the hallway tree bench cut for you when you buy. The only tools you will need are a drill and a screwdriver. Add decorative metal hooks and hang a mirror in the center to turn a simple tree from the hallway into a focal point. Sand the wood surfaces of the wood and door panels with medium-grade sandpaper, then with light-grade sandpaper. Remove all debris from sanding. Primer and paint or stain on both sides of the door, wood panels and strip of wood. Let the paint or stain dry completely before building your bench and tree storage hall. Set the box frame for the storage bench by placing an 18-inch wood panel next to a 36-inch panel so that the 18-inch panel is perpendicular to the 36-inch panel.
The edge of the 18-inch panel should be flush with the edge of the 36-inch panel. Drill pilot holes before inserting the screws. Place a 36-inch panel on the front and sides behind the 18-inch panel, as well as the first 36-inch panel. Add the remaining 18-inch group to the open side, joining the three 36-inch panels. Attach the 36-inch wood strip to the back of your hallway tree bench frame, at the top. Add the hinges to the leading edge of the wood strip, 6 inches from each corner. Attach the remaining 36-inch panel to the hooks hinges, creating a cover for your tree bench.
Fit the tree bench to the base of the area with wood screws. If your door is hollow, use anchor bolts. Attach the mirror to the center of the upper half of the door with mirror adhesive. Attach the decorative metal hooks six, three evenly spaced on each side of the mirror. Place the pillows on the hallway tree bench for added convenience. Create a padded seat that covers the top wood panel with padding, wadding, and fabric.
